Furry and cute, gophers are generally good for the environment and even for your yard, because their constant digging enriches your soil; not often seen, they spend most of their lives underground digging away. What you will see however, is damage to your garden, plants and other foliage that a group of gophers can cause while they happily dig and dig and dig. Did we mention they like to dig? IT'S IN THE HOLE!
That might be great to hear if you're playing golf but when it comes to having one in your backyard, it's a different story, especially if the hole is courtesy of a gopher. Master diggers and tunnel builders, gophers also love to eat the types of plants and vegetation you have planted in your yard. Moreover, they can chew threw underground wire and plumbing which can waste the time and money you spent on your lawn. So look for these telltale signs of gopher activity, and if you see it or aren't sure, give us a call.

- Gopher Mounds: Look for freshly dug soil and holes that are often crescent shaped or where the hole off-centered.

- Tunnels: Gophers do not make tunnels. If you see tunnels, chances are you have a mole.

Because they're so cute, people have a tendency to want to approach gophers for a closer look or to pet. Don't do it! Though not normally aggressive, gophers will bite if they feel threatened or cornered. Give them their space. We'll give you back your yard.
